Championed and developed system initiatives, with overall accounting, reimbursement, budgeting and decision support responsibility for a 35+ site, multi-specialty physician group with 140 providers, a residency program with 45 full time residents, 8 hospitalists, 25 house advanced practice professionals, and the hospital acute care employed physician departments (approximately $80m of the $500m health system budget).

  1. Shortened financial statement refresh rate from two days to twenty minutes by automating monthly financial statements, while customizing reports for all health system departments.
  2. Achieved zero-based budgeting directly at practice level by championing, purchasing, and implementing IBM Cognos budget and planning model.
  3. Saved $2m annually by applying for 5 Urban FQHC sites that prevented closing valuable services to the community.
  4. Automated repetitive finance and billing department tasks by purchasing enterprise-wide licensed key stroke automation software.
  5. Increased margin by $6m and provider compensation by $6m through the implementation of Work RVU provider compensation models with physician buy-in and collaboration.
  6. Championed quality reporting to 600+ attending physicians as a sitting member of the Hospital Care Management Committee (Pathways to Care).
